Dr. Robert Kingus is the owner and founder of Corridor Family Eyecare. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and Iowa Optometric Association. Dr. Kingus graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry, where he earned membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Fraternity. He is also a current member of the Cedar Rapids West Rotary Club where he served as a board member from 2009-2011. Dr. Kingus has a strong interest and proficiency in fitting contact lenses, low vision rehabilitation, treatment, and management of ocular medical conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease, as well as full-scope family optometry.
Dr. Kingus is happily married to his wife, Dr. Heather Kingus, and has two beautiful daughters. Heather is a veterinarian with Frey Pet Hospital. Their family enjoys participating in youth softball, traveling, community activities, and rooting for the Iowa State Cyclones. Dr. Robert Kingus has been an active member of the Cedar Rapids and Corridor community since moving to Cedar Rapids in 2006, and looks forward to continuing to provide his “family first” eye care to the area for many years to come.
